The Green School Awards for London and the south east will be staged at the Ashford International Hotel

Showcasing youth action on green issues

The annual Green School Awards serving London and the south east will showcase environmental campaigns and best practice.

The awards focus on the best school-led initiatives in the following categories: green travel to school and road safety, energy conservation, nature conservation, air pollution, recycling, and health and wellbeing. Schemes should link to schools to some degree, perhaps with the original idea being generated by a school but then carried out in pupils’ homes or the wider community.

This year’s event will be hosted by Simon Dolby of Streetspace. The event originally started in Kent and now accepts entries from Sussex, Surrey, London, and East Anglia.

The Green School Awards are staged by the charity Inspire Schools to help children become more knowledgeable about our environment and how we can help protect and conserve it, encouraging eco-friendly behaviour.
