The future of sport has never looked brighter thanks to a new partnership that will transform the way sports facilities can operate. The UK’s leading canopy innovators, Streetspace Urban Structures, have teamed up with Greenline and Shade Systems NZ, the Southern Hemispheres shade and weather protection specialists. Innovative all-weather shelter solutions, will guarantee sports facilities daily, extending use of their covered areas, regardless of weather conditions or daylight. Sports clubs will be able to accommodate more members; offering more sporting activities, more often. All under the protection of intelligently designed, multi-purpose structures that are cost effective to build and maintain.
With decades of experience, Streetspace specialise in realising the full potential of under-utilised space. Their expertise spans multiple sectors and includes the design and installation of glazed buildings, walkways and green roof structures in addition to canopies. They have worked with many of the UK’s leading attractions on creative cover solutions. Countless UK schools and academies now showcase their impactful designs; invigorating existing buildings and adding extra communal space within defined budgets.
Over two generations, Greenline have installed more than 2000 canopy structures across Australia; softening the sun’s effect and creating carefully designed community areas. Completed projects now provide shade and all year-round weather protection for walkways, pools, playgrounds, sports courts, outdoor learning, car parks and schools. Their recent Richard Johnson Anglican School project in Oakland, Australia provided spectacular framed fabric structures across four areas totalling 1000 m². Partnering with Melanoma Institute Australia, Greenline’s Raise the Roof campaign is successfully raising funds for the charity and assisting in creating healthier, safer and stronger communities.
With more than 60 years expertise, the Shade Systems tagline ‘cover for generations’ sums up a company with the experience to deliver long lasting shelter projects throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Shade Systems work closely with customers who have a duty of care protecting those using their facilities; enhancing the look and safe use of community spaces. Shade Systems’ designs support healthy outdoor activity; providing a clean, dry and sheltered area for multiple purposes. Recent projects include the coverage of a new attraction at Rainbow’s End Theme Park spanning 1,200m² and a giant 2275m² canopy covering multiple sports courts at Bucklands Beach Intermediate School in Auckland, NZ.
