Streetspace are recruiting for an Assistant Estimator to be based at our Hythe offices CT21 4LR. This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday 8:00 – 17:00. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What we are looking for!

We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulously organised individual to join our Project Sales Team as Assistant Estimator reporting to the Commercial Director.

The successful candidate would require a keen eye for detail and excellent presentation skills, coupled with an interest in construction and architecture. These are key qualities, with estimating for project sales requiring consistently high standards of clarity in presentation. This process is most successful as a knowledge of structures and their specific applications is developed.

Tasks:

  • Manage the workflow of estimating tasks to ensure return dates and revision dates for quotations/tenders are met leaving sufficient time for all third party requirements to be obtained including sub-contract package quotations and architectural visualisations.
  • Manage the quotation approval process ensuring sufficient time for pricing decisions to be made by the Commercial Director.
  • Review in-coming project assessment details from Field Sales Team for required information checking that the proposal meets company design/performance/pricing criteria
  • Liaise with Design Team on non-standard product/solution enquiries.
  • Personally generate accurate estimates and quotations presented clearly and with correct use of the English language throughout.
  • Provide the Sales Office with technical application assistance as required.
  • Make up order files ensuring that coherent and complete information of all pre-order activity is compiled for Project Handover to our Operations Team.
  • Review Tender requirements ensuring that terms and conditions are acceptable bringing to the attention of the Projects Surveyor or Commercial Directors any areas of concern.

Skills & Qualifications

  • The ability to communicate clearly with others, at all levels, regarding technical issues
  • The ability to handle and progress complex quotations working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to understand construction drawings, bills of materials and technical specifications.
  • Have excellent mathematical skills.
  • Be able to construct accurate, well written emails and covering letters for the Sales Team that explain the technical elements of the quotation in clear and concise English.
  • Have proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office and related systems.
  • Have a basic understanding of architectural structures and associated civil engineering.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience in an Estimating or Project Management role is preferable.

Welder / Fabricator

Streetspace are leading manufacturers of canopies and street furniture with products that can be found on external works schemes throughout the UK and Ireland. Based near Hythe in Kent this is an exciting period for our fast growing company and we are currently recruiting for additional fabrication staff to join our team.

The role is based at our fabrication facility with no site work requirement and consists of both batch work and custom build structures in MIG Welded Mild Steel.  All fabrication is Streetspace product with shop drawings produced by our in-house design department.

Reliable, physically fit and with an enthusiastic approach, you will need to be the type of person that is motivated to reach target outputs producing consistently high standards of workmanship in accordance with our BS EN 1090 and ISO 9001:2008 accredited manufacturing process.

Timber Manufacturing Staff

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7.00am-5.00pm.

Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays

Streetspace Ltd is an established local business experiencing sustained strong growth and we are currently looking for skilled timber manufacturing staff for our busy manufacturing facility at Lympne Industrial Park.

Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, you will be working as part of a team fitting panel sections (timber, recycled plastic, steel and aluminium) and finishing components to our metroSTOR modular storage units.

You will need to be the type of person that is motivated to reach target outputs producing consistently high standards of workmanship in accordance with our ISO 9001:2008 accredited manufacturing process. Physically fit, reliable and with an enthusiastic approach, you will ideally have experience in a yard/workshop work environment and have your own transport.
